Matthias Rudolph received his Dipl.-Ing. degree from Berlin Institute of Technology, Berlin, Germany, in 1996, and his Dr.-Ing. degree from Darmstadt University of Technology, Darmstadt, Germany, in 2001. From 1996 until 2009 he was with the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut, Leibniz-Institut für Höchstfrequenztechnik, Berlin, Germany. Starting as a research assistant, he eventually became head of the low-noise components group. In 2009, he was appointed the Ulrich-L.-Rohde chair professor at Brandenburg University of Technology, Cottbus, Germany. The areas of his research are modeling of transistors and MMIC design. Prof. Rudolph (co)-authored three books and close to 100 publications in refereed journals and conferences. He is a member of MTT-S Technical Committees 1 and 14, and of the MTT-S IMS TPRC for several years. He was the Programme Chair of the European Microwave Week in 2007 and a chair of the German Microwave Conference in 2010. Since 2010 he serves as the conference software officer of the European Microwave Association.
